The Tanzanian Art Council has announced the lift of the ban from music of Wasafi Artists Rayvanny and Diamond Platnumz.
This comes after the Art Council locked them out of the entertainment industry last year on the grounds of being a disgrace to the moral values.
The Council has revealed that the ban lift was effective as from the 22 January 2019.
Diamond and Rayvanny were banned from music after the release of their song ‘ Mwanza’ towards the end of 2018.
The Wasafi family also faced a backlash after their overly hyped Festival was also banned,
According to the statement issued, BASATA has also lifted the ban over the Wasafi Festival.
The Council stated that they reached to this decision after they got several requests and the artists apologies over the matter.
Despite allowing them back into the music game, the council insisted that they are expected to comply with the law moving forward.
BASATA also added that they will follow up on their content to ensure that moral values and the laws that govern art will be upheld.
Through social media pages, Diamond and Rayvanny gave thanks to the Council as they celebrate their freedom.
