Kilifi Governor Kingi pays final tribute to the late Kamto

 

Former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kamto was today given a befitting send off by political leaders, his family and his friends. The leaders gave their final respect as they demanded that the police should continue investigating over his death.

Political leaders from different regions today gathered during the funeral of former Kilifi deputy governor Kenneth Kamto, Rabai, Kilifi County.

Some of the leaders who were in attendance include the Deputy President William Ruto, Mombasa  Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Kilifi Governor  Amason  among others.

Deputy President William Ruto eulogized  Kamto as a strong-willed, pragmatic leader, who put the service of his constituents first.

“He advocated dialogue and a working relationship with all leaders across the political divide. Kamto’s astute leadership leaves an indelible mark in coastal and national politics.” he said

The Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi said that late Hon Kenneth Kamto was a devoted, respectful and accomplished leader who served the People of Kilifi and carried out his duties with excellence and unwavering commitment. He showed resilience and humility- a paramount feature that won him respect and admiration.

“We will remember him as a leader who enjoyed serving his people and improving the living standards by always rising to the occasion whenever he was needed not only by his family but also by the Rabai people and the Kilifi County Community at large.”he added

The leaders also demanded that security officers to speed up the investigations and those involved in his assassination to brought to book immediately.

The former Kilifi deputy governor Kenneth Kamto was shot dead by unknown gunmen at his residence in Nyali, Mombasa.

Coast Regional Police Commander Noah Mwivanda confirmed the killing on 12th December, saying that the former deputy governor was accosted by three gunmen who shot and killed him as he entered his home.
