Have ever been caught in matatu drama or went to the matatu stage and found no matatus to get you to your destination? This is not strange in most big towns in Kenya especially Nairobi. Sometimes even the fare price just scares you away.
Most people have devised their own survival techniques to survive during such days, especially on Monday and during rainy seasons.
Some resolve to use commuter trains which of which they are not guaranteed everyday. Train only operates on certain routes and only on specific times that is early morning and late evening.
Some just decide to hit the road trekking till they reach their work places. The road traffic jam can just take you centuries to get to your destination.
As people struggle some have also improvised their perfect means of transport. We call it free ride to your destination. No more quarrels with the conductors , you just alight wherever you feel like.
Although it is free, it is the most dangerous means. This chaps were spotted a long Outter Ring Road off Jogoo Road in Nairobi enjoying the free ride. Riding behind the petroleum transit lorry:
Life is hard out there, people can't afford transport fee, does that justify the need to risk their lives like this?? pic.twitter.com/byZzDvu0R4

The ride is free but very dangerous.
This comes as the government is re introducing Michuki rules in the fight to end the rampant road accidents in the country which have been increasing each and every day in the roads.
The rules are meant to curb the rogue matatus and also help sanitize the transport system in the country. This is deemed as measure that will help reduce traffic accidents in the country and also save lives of most Kenyans.
DO YOU THINK MICHUKI RULES WILL REDUCE ROAD ACCIDENTS ?
