Preliminary results from the Migori County Senatorial by election indicate that ODM candidate Ochillo Ayacko has taken an early lead over political novice Eddy Oketch.
The results though unverified indicate that Mr. Ayacko is enroute to a landmark victory over the 27 year old candidate.

The result is an indication that the people of Migori heed calls by ODM leader Raila Odinga to vote in Oketch and not a person who has nothing to offer in terms of leadership.
Mr Odinga on Friday asked the residents not to be swayed “by newcomers to politics with nothing much to offer in terms of leadership”.
The polling has however not been without controversy, as Oketch’s camp has accused ODM of voter bribery.

Youths in Awendo town allegedly confronted a man who was dishing out money at at council polling station. The suspect was rescued by police.
Most ODM leaders including John Mbadi and Junet Mohammed were on the ground on Monday to offer support for Ayacko.
Voter turnout was placed at 40% which could mean most people who disagreed with ODM chose to stay away.
Most observers expected a tight race between the two main candidates especially after Oketch received social media support from Miguna Miguna and a host of other high profile personalties.
As expected, @UKenyatta has come to his fake brother’s aid and poured tens of thousands of police and “Majoni” to help steal votes. Predictably, the @IEBCKenya machines and Kiems kits are “down.” The brave Migori people should reject the @JubileePartyK candidate, Ochilo Ayacho.

To patriotic gallant people of Migori – the epicentre of the October 26th revolution: Wake up very early tomorrow and cast your votes for EDDY OKECH Muok Ratego. Power belongs to the people; not HandChequers. Let us show the cowards and opportunists that they don’t own voters!
