Before the football world and the entire universe at large was brought to a halt by the corona epidemic, there was plenty to talk about. Much of it involved the best team, coaches and most importantly the best players in the most watched league in the world, The English Premier League.
Below, we look at three players who were making a claim to be crowned as the best performers in the English Premier League.
Sadio Mane-Liverpool
The Senegalese forward is in the form of his life. He won the Premier League Golden Boot last year as well as the UEFA Champions League and also made it to the final of the African Cup Of Nations.
Mane has 14 goals and nine assists in the league this season, helping Liverpool set a blistering pace in the English top flight as they look set to win their first league title in 30 years.
Jordan Henderson
The English midfielder is the captain and leader of possibly the best Liverpool side seen in more than three decades. The battering skipper has been the perfect platform through which Jurgen Klopp sets up his play.
Henderson has featured 25 times for the table leaders scoring three goals and setting up five in the process. He has to be in the running for player of the season award.
Jamie Vardy
Jamie Vardy never ceases to amaze. The Leicester City striker chose to stay with the Foxes after guiding them to their maiden league title win four years ago while Riyad Mahrez and Ngolo Kante opted for greener pastures.
AT 33 years of age, the Englishman is the highest scorer in the league with nineteen strikes as the Foxes look destined for only their second Champions League qualification in their history.
