Kenya Premier League record Champions Gor Mahia are definitely to having the best of off-seasons. Despite winning the league for a record 18th time in May, K’Ogallo is in the midst of a staff exodus from the club.
The departures were kickstarted by Rwandese striker Jacques Tuyisenge who joined Angolan giants Petro Athletico in a big-money deal. The lanky forward has been Gor Mahia’s talisman of the past 3 years and scored more than 60 goals for Gor Mahia.
Next on the outgoing list was yet another high profile player in Francis Kahata who moved to Tanzania giants Simba after his contract with the Kenyan champions expired last June.
In the past one week, club captain and center back Harun Shakava confirmed his move to Zambian side FC Nkana. The club is also home to former Gor Mahia captain and center back Musa Mohamed.
The club has parted ways with our captain Harun Shakava through a mutual agreement.
He will be joining Zambian side Nkana Football Club. Thank you for your service Shakes. All the best in your new career path.#Sportpesa #Sirkal pic.twitter.com/b14MJ49IQj

With the club now confirming that head coach Hassan Oktay has been granted leave so he can go back to his home country to attend family matters, the future does not seem bright.
TEAM NEWS……
Head coach Hassan Oktay has been accorded a few days off duty to attend to personal family matters back at his native home in Turkey.
We are wishing him safe flight home as he hit the runway tomorrow.#Sirkal pic.twitter.com/brXJOZgQdc

Oktay’s imminent departure would have been a bit softer had his assistant manager for last season not also left the club just two months prior. Peter Odhiambo, the club’s new assistant coach will naturally assume Oktay’s role before Gor Mahia find a suitable replacement but it will be asking too much for a man who has only been at the club for a month.
With moneybags Wazito FC making quality player signings left, right and center and clearly aiming for K’Ogallo’s throne, Gor Mahia will need to get their act together quickly or suffer the crushing blow of being dethroned!
