Kisumu County have purchased a cow worth Ksh 3.7 million!
At least that’s what the Auditor General’s office has informed the public raising the alarm over the mismanagement of funds.
Surprisingly, as much as this ‘cow’ is one of the most expensive in history to be bought, it does not even come close to the Guinness Book of Records Holder.
That award goes to Misty, a Holstein cow!
In 2009, Missy was auctioned for $1.2 million shattering the record for the most expensive cow ever sold.

According to the Breeder, Ms Bloyce Thompson:
“She’s the most valuable young cow in the world right now [and] is one of the top show cows in North America”.
She was also the Grand Champion of the 2009 Western Fall National Show.
So you see? Kisumu County government aren’t the only ones who know the true value of cows.
It seems like our fellow Westerners have been selling expensive cows for the past 10 years!!
