The Kenya National Police Service yesterday issued a statement in regard to the Latema Explosion that left two injured.
This incident comes a week after the Dusit D2 Riverside terror attack and police have urged all citizens to step up their levels of alertness regarding their surroundings and provide information immediately to the Police in case anything out of the ordinary is observed .
They also advised that all Hotel operators must obtain full details of their lodgers and restaurant operators must also step up their levels of alertness and security in their establishments.
PSV operators have been advised to monitor the behaviour of their passengers and be wary of persons who may board with luggage and thereafter attempt to alight without the baggage.
The police also called upon shopping mall operators as well as ushers at all houses of worship,educational institutions, and all other public places to frisk all persons entering their premises and promptly notify the Police should they detect anything unusual for action.
Police have also assured Kenyans that they have stepped up alertness on our highways, all Police Commanders have been instructed to apply to a court of law for forfeiture of any vehicle found with illegal immigrants and any form of contraband.

Speaking to the press yesterday, Nairobi Police boss Philip Ndolo, gave a brief of what happened, a man is said to have hired a trolley pusher and tricked him and left him with the luggage; the explosion followed minutes later.
Ndolo yesterday asked the public to be on high alert and report any suspected terror activities.
