The Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM) Church has been doing a web series around homosexuality. The conversation on homosexuality is a two part series is by the CITAM church online hosted by Mercy Ogutu, Secular turned Gospel singer Amani and Pastor Becher Karanja.
Homosexuality has for the longest time been considered a taboo topic in Kenya especially amongst Christians and it’s only now that the Church is beginning to be vocal about the issue. However, the CITAM church panel’s argument on homosexuality has not been taken positively by most Kenyans on Twitter.
Amani, now Gospel artist has been bashed on Twitter for the remarks she made and her baseless argument on how people grow into homosexuality.
According to Amani, girls in high school will turn gay because of being given a male role during drama festivals. Amani argued saying that girls get so immersed in their character so much that they start believing and seeing themselves as male and thus turn lesbian.
Take a look at some of the reactions to Amani’s comments:
Waaaaah. Citam decided to do videos for their online church, tackling homosexuality. The whole damn series is rotten with warped arguments from three panellists. But of all the crazy things said in those videos, it is Amani (reformed singer) with the most incredible argument.

Speaking as a woman who played ALL male roles in high school (very same one with Amani btw) this is utter hogwash!

Bwana remind me one day to tell you the story of the day somebody brought a smoke machine to Citam for a gig and how the pastor saw Lucifer in that smoke

I was part of a research on Gender and sexual minorities last year and I realized that a lot of people do not know anything about being gay and the circumstances surrounding it. This panel has NO IDEA about what they are talking about.

First of all….there shouldnt be a panel formed to talk about anything if the people talking are not experts on the topic…..this is trash.

The Church has always come under fire and it’s because of such reasons where they try to tackle topics like homosexuality without doing proper research on the issue and addressing the root cause.
