‘Why I picked Arsenal over PSG’- Guendouzi

Matteo Guendouzi joined Arsenal over the summer from French outfit FC Lorient for a fee of around £7m.

Guendouzi was one of Unai Emery’s first signings as Arsenal boss.

Emery would lose his first two games in charge of Arsenal as they took on Man City and Chelsea.

However, Emery has since guided Arsenal to a 21 match unbeaten run across all competitions.

The latest of which saw Arsenal beat Huddersfield 1-0 on Saturday.

According to Guendouzi, Emery is one of the key reasons that he chose to join Arsenal this season.

Speaking to Canal Football Club, Guendouzi stated:

“He [Emery] was definitely a reason why I went. It was him who really wanted me to come to Arsenal.

“He is a very good manager, we have done very good results since the beginning of the season with him.”

Guendouzi has also revealed that Ligue 1 giants PSG were also vying for his signature earlier this year.

This is no surprise given what a talent he is proving to be at Arsenal.

Despite being just 19 years of age Guendouzi has settled in at Arsenal extremely well and looks like he has been playing Premier League football for years.

The youngster has made 20 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal, in which he has scored one and assisted two.
