It was thrilling night for the Film Industry as the 8th Kalasha gala awards went down at Nairobi’s Safari Park Hotel.
The red carpet event hosted by Jeff Koinange and Amina Abdi saw talent in the different facets of Film and TV industry awarded and recognized for their great work and contribution in trying to promote a vibrant local film industry.
Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of ICT Joe Mucheru was the Chief Guest at the 8th Kalasha Awards.
Speaking at the Kalasha awards, CS Joe Mucheru told film makers that he wanted to see a blockbuster movie that could be sold to the Chinese mass market and promised a competition to identify such a film.
The CS further promised to put together a task force that will see to it that all counties have a movie theatre.
KOT didn’t seem amused by the remarks of the cabinet secretary with some feeling as though the government has for the longest time neglected the industry.
Why do you have to invite govt officials on these events when they hardly support arts and talent based industries?
