How Raila & Ruto Approached Kikwete Over AU Job; Kang’ethe Alleges Torture as Extradition Stalls & Friends Again? Ruto, Raila and the Power of Photography

Good morning,

Recently, speculation has been rife on the relationship between President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga after the former threw his weight behind ODM’s supremo African Union (AU) Commission job bid.

On Tuesday, Raila was in the spotlight again after he met with Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa, just a day after he shared photos of himself and Ruto in a meeting with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in Uganda.

CS Jumwa presented the Azimio party leader with a report on the two-thirds gender rule as she praised Raila for his contribution to advocating for the equality of women within the political scene.

However, the meeting drew divergent views with some political analysts drawing comparisons with the handshake between Raila and the then sitting President Uhuru Kenyatta when government officials regularly updated the Opposition leader on matters of development.

Do you think the latest development is an indication of another form of handshake between Raila and Ruto?
