Uhuru’s Ally on Where Govt Is Taking Billions Gotten From Edible Oil; Prof Mutua Hits Out At Karua Ahead Of Her Announcement & Why Raila Blocked Plan to Sell State Firms

Good morning,

Lately, there have been growing calls for the sacking of some Cabinet Secretaries from the President William Ruto-led government in what critics term incompetence and non-performance.

The irony, however, is that most of the calls for the impeachment of these CSs have been emanating from members of the ruling party, UDA.

On Monday, Juja MP, George Koimburi, issued a stern warning, threatening to lead Mt Kenya MPs in collecting signatures for the impeachment of Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen.

Koimburi raised concern over the delay in the completion of the Mau Mau road and gave a six-month ultimatum for this action as Kangema MP Peter Kihungi claimed that the Kenya Kwanza government may have intentionally left it; signaling a potential political storm ahead.

A few weeks ago CS Moses Kuria was in the eye of the storm after Senators led by Leader of Majority Aaron Cheruyiot called for his impeachment while claiming that the vocal CS was an embarrassment to the government and President Ruto.

Moreover, on Monday, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa hinted at the President sacking some CSs over non-performance.

Barasa claimed that the president is aware that some of his CSs are incompetent and explained the move to have them sign performance contracts was one way to sack them easily.

Do you think some CSs are on the verge of being sacked? And do you think the fact that most calls for the impeachment of some CSs are emanating from UDA members is a sign of cracks within the ruling party?

Meanwhile, here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:
