Opera News Shines Again at 2023 Mobile App Awards

Opera News Kenya for a second time running, has won the hearts of Kenyans as one of the Best News and Information App in the country.

This was made public on Thursday, November 23 at a colourful ceremony held at Sarova Panafric Hotel where it emerged as the second-best news App, after Citizen Digital.

In 2022, Opera was at the apex in the same category cementing its place in the Mobile App space as the most trusted platform for news.

The Awards gala brought together hundreds of stakeholders from the mobile app industry on a single platform besides celebrating the Mobile App Industry by showcasing incredible mobile apps and the companies behind them.

The Opera award was received by the East Africa lead Irari Ngugi who also gave insights on the on trends in the App Ecosystem touching on how to navigate the future of Mobile Apps.

He enlightened the audience on the future of Mobile Apps insisting that people have no option but to adapt faster to the changing environment brought about by technological advancement.

“It is all about convenience,” he said as he discussed why the future is going to play on mobile phones through Apps.

Oraganised by the Vibrant Digital Africa the summit is meant to celebrate and award incredible mobile apps in Kenya.

He was flanked by colleagues including Mark Mwithaga, who is an editor at the firm.
