Lyn Mengich, the Chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC), has announced that there will be no salary increase for President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua over the next two years.

Mengich mentioned this during an appearance on Citizen TV’s The Tonight Show, stating that SRC is legally responsible for evaluating public sector salaries every two years.

She also shared that both President Ruto and Deputy President Gachagua declined a salary adjustment proposal put forth by SRC, as conveyed through the Head of Public Service.

In other news, The Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition plans to hold a prayer event today to honor supporters who lost their lives during anti-government protests in Bondo, Siaya County.

The event, scheduled from 9 am to 12:30 pm at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Park, will also serve as an opportunity for opposition leaders to denounce police brutality and request an investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC) into the deaths that occurred during the protests.
