Tuju Reveals Why Ruto Was Kicked Out of Jubilee Party Position; Jubilee MCA From Kiambu is Dead & Murdered NLC Official Was Witness in Sh122m Fraud Case

Good morning,

Isn’t it getting harder and harder to survive in our beloved country as the days go by?

On Monday, social media was awash with lamentations from motorists, who wanted the government to reverse the latest fuel prices revision, which resulted in a hike at the pump.

Worse still, details emerged, indicating that the selling price of fuel in Kenya is more than double the importation cost, which means that either, dealers are ripping off motorists, or, the government is making supernormal profits through fuel taxation.

An increase in fuel cost translates into increased cost of production of goods, which means that commodity prices are also set to increase, as is the case with bus fares and haulage costs.

Therefore, we cannot say that this is only a problem for those who own vehicles.

Meanwhile, our legislators need to be more proactive in addressing issues…Let them leave the social media bickering to the rest of us who have no power over policy, and actually do something about it, in their capacity as lawmakers.

Here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:
