Kenyans have today expressed mixed reactions after the main suspect in Monica Kimani’s murder case was released on bail.
Joseph Irungu who was once a lover to media personality Jacque Maribe was on Thursday released from police custody on a Ksh2 million cash bail or Ksh3 million bond. The former private security contractor had been behind bars since 25th September 2018 after he was arrested for allegedly being involved in Monica Kimani’s murder.
Over the past few months a section of Kenyans has been vocal to demand for his release on bail just like other politicians like Babu Owino and Obado who were also arrested and later released for cases similar to Jowie’s.
Although some Kenyans seem elated by the court’s decision to release Jowie on bail, others mentioned that the focus should be on justice to the family that was affected in this case.
Apart from Kenyans, other personalities who spoke after Jowie’s release include Joe Muchiri and Dennis Itumbi who seemed impressed by the news.
Amid the mixed reactions some even got to make jokes out of the situation claiming that Maribe’s close friend Itumbi might not be as happy as he claims.
Others seemed excited that Jowie was released a day before Valentine and this means he could have time to enjoy himself and celebrate love. Some even suggested that he should link up with Maribe for Valentines even though they ended their relationship while others advised him to attend the Men’s conference.
