The Kenya Premier League resumes this weekend folwing a break last week. All teams will be in action for matchday 18. Here are the main talking points ahead of the clashes.
The Champions Face Bandari Test
Gor Mahia host Bandari United at the Afraha Stadium in Kisumu. It will be the first match of the Twahir Muhidin era as the manager of the coastal club. Muhidin was appointed to the role following the sacking of former manager Bernard Mwalala.
Bandari has lost two on the bounce and they really need to start picking up points, could Twahir inspire them to the proverbial new manager bounce?
Kisumu All Stars Up Against An Inform Makwatta
Mark Makwatta is the current top scorer in the league with 12 strikes so far. The AFC Leopards man is single-handedly winning matches for Ingwe.
Meanwhile, Kisumu All Stars is still rooted at the bottom end of the table with just one win so far. Makwatta could find himself having a field day against a backline that has already let in 31 goals so far.
Robert Matano Derby At Ruaraka
Aside from being the only teams that stopped Gor Mahia from winning the league in the last decade, Tusker and Ulinzi Stars have one more thing in common. They have both been managed by the current Tusker head coach, Robert Matano.
Tusker is at the summit of the table while Ulinzi is not far off. In fact, the soldiers are just three points behind in 4th place. It should be an interesting affair!
