In her Saturday post, Akombe, who fled the country in 2017, noted that today would have been Msando’s 47th birthday, but due to his hard stance on preserving the integrity of Kenyan elections, he did not live to see this day.

Akombe’s tribute was received with mixed reactions, with a section of Kenyans expressing bitterness at the fact that two years later, Msando’s murder is yet to be solved, with those responsible walking scot free.

Others attacked the former IEBC commissioner for not playing her part in helping with investigations into the IT Manager’s death, claiming that she knows more than she has been letting on.

Msando’s death was a key topic of controversy around the electioneering period, with the National Super Alliance (NASA) smelling foul play in the IEBC officials death.

According to the Alliance, some politicians might have executed Msando ina bid to access IEBC systems with the aim of manipulating the 207 election outcome.
