CECAFA: How Harambee Stars Could Line Up Against Eritrea In The Semi Final

Harambee Stars will take to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon to face Eritrea in the semi-finals of the regional football tournament CECAFA. Francis Kimanzi and his team have a perfect record in the competition having won all their group matches.

Below, we take a look at how the team could line up.

Defense

Western Stima skipper Stephen Odhiambo has one nothing wrong in goal and will continue in between the sticks. Samuel Olwande is the undisputed starter at right-back while Mathare United’s David Owino gets another chance to shine at left-back.

Meanwhile, senior defender Joash Onyango will once again start at center back alongside Wazito FC hard man Johnstone Omurwa.

Midfield

Lawrence Juma has been rock solid every time he plays for the national team and the Gor Mahia midfielder is a sure starter at the center of the pack. Francis Kimanzi is a huge favorite of a double pivot in midfield which means we could see Mathare United midfielder Roy Okal partnered with Juma.

Ahead of the two, Gor Mahia skipper and multiple Kenya Premier League winner Kenneth Muguna will play in his preferred #10 role.

Attack

Bandari winger Abdalla Hassan has been Harambee Stars’ main goal threat in the tournament with two goals in his first three appearances. He should start on the right-wing.

Cliffton Miheso adds speed and precision on the left-wing and the winger will be eager to prove his worth against the Eritreans.  Finally, Tusker Fc striker Timothy Otieno will spearhead Kenya’s hunt for goals.

Starting XI: Odhiambo, Olwande, Owino, Onyango, Omurwa, Juma, Okal, Muguna, Hassan, Miheso, Otieno.
