Why Waiguru, Mutua and Ngilu Rushed to Raila’s ‘Bedroom’

The Kibra by-election fever has gone a level up following the curtain fall on the campaigns ahead of the big day, November 7.

Political leaders have in the past month engaged each other in a war of words over the area that has always been seen as a stronghold to the ODM party.

Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, on Tuesday, claimed that the race to the seat left vacant by the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth, had attracted an interesting crop of leaders not directly involved in the competition.

Governor Anne Waiguru, Governor Charity Ngilu and Governor Alfred Mutua

Cheruiyot during NTV AM Live show, remarked that Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, dove into the politics of the area in order to get protection.

The incumbent senator alleged that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government managed to silence governors in the country politically.

He further added that those who had not been gagged, the system bought their loyalty in order to keep them in check.

The tough talking politician commented that the three were finding comfort under Raila Odinga after being involved in scandals.

According to Cheruiyot, Raila has become a turncoat being sought by every leader in trouble in order to turn their misfortunes around.

“The system has managed to tame such governors. That is what the three went to do in Kibra.”

“One who includes a jail man who poured waste oil and called it tarmac (Mutua), the other is Charity Ngilu who burnt an entire finance department just to keep her records intact,” remarked Cheruiyot.

He added that, “The last one is Waiguru who destroyed NYS that had turned the lives of the people of Kibra, now find the comfort of one Raila Odinga.”

Last Saturday, Mutua and Ngilu endorsed ODM Kibra candidate Imran Okoth, in his pursuit to succeed his late brother.

Governor Mutua, stated that his decision was influenced by the handshake agreement between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila.

The Kitui governor on her part affirmed that Raila’s track record in the area deserved to be continued by one of his own.

Governor Ngilu urged the residents to pick Imran who is best suited to continue the work of the deceased lawmaker.

Waiguru joined the fray on Sunday in backing the ODM party to clinch victory in what will be a very close contest between Imran and his rival Jubilee Kibra candidate Macdonald Mariga.
