Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has claimed Deputy President William Ruto is using the Jubilee’s candidate for Kibra by-election MacDonald Mariga to destabilise the handshake.
Sifuna, who made the claims during a TV Show on Wednesday, claimed the real intentions of DP Ruto for endorsing Mariga is to drive a wedge between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
“We have people like the Deputy President who have decided that he is going to use Kibra to try and foment some trouble between the President and ODM Party leader Raila Odinga,” he told Point Blank Show Host Tony Gachoka.
“You remember the day that Mariga was purportedly unveiled at Statehouse, Nairobi. You saw DP’s online warriors shouting themselves hoarse that the handshake is dead.”
“We heard our friends in NASA say they have decided they are going to use this opportunity to formalise a divorce. They have told us that they want to teach ODM a lesson” he disclosed.

Sifuna noted that the ODM Party all along have known ANC and Ford Kenya does not harbour good intentions for the NASA Alliance.
“We have always known these people to be our enemies. They are leeches. They are parasites. We have carried them on our backs like ticks all this time” adding that, “they have decided to formalise the wars that they have been fighting us”.
He said: “If NASA died during the swearing-in of Raila at Uhuru Park as the People’s President then it will be buried at Kibra”
