YouTuber Maureen Waititu has broken her silence on her much-publicized break up with spouse of 5 years, Francis Kiarie aka Frankie JusGymit.
She revealed that she never thought she would be a single mum and always thought she would raise her sons with her spouse by her side.
“I never imagined that I would raise my kids in a set up where the dad would come and take them (to hang out with them). I didn’t think I would raise my kids in a co-parenting situation,” she confessed in a video on YouTube.
Maureen disclosed that though things didn’t go as planned, she is at a better place and prospering on her own. “I am at peace, I’m in a better place that I have not been in in a while.”
She also added that she is not yet over the relationship because she spent half a decade in it. “It has been a few months, it’s a process. I don’t know what guys think a relationship is, you just pack up and leave (emotionally)? I spent 5 years of my life in that relationship,” she said.
Frankie speaks on the breakup
Her ex Frankie had earlier addressed his break up from the mother of his two children.
‘Maureen and I, we had our differences and decided to go our separate ways,” he posted.
Frankie also revealed that he still has love for Maureen having known her for about half a decade.
“The point of this is to let you know that people might say something to be funny or relevant on Twitter and Instagram but someone’s day to day life is being affected. We are not in a good place yet. I have known Maureen for 6 years and loved her every one of those years. That kind of love doesn’t fade. Sometimes things just don’t happen the way you expect them to. Our main focus is the kids and creating a healthy environment for them. Extended us the courtesy,” shared Frankie.
