Former Presidential Aspirant, Mwalimu Abduba Dida has criticised the Jubilee government and in particular, Deputy President William Ruto for illegally using government’s projects to campaign for their candidate in Kibra by-election.
Through his Twitter post, Dida who lost to Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013-2017 general elections alleged that the Jubilee party was using government’s projects which were meant for the general public despite their political affiliations to entice voters in Kibra.
He claimed that Ruto was blackmailing Kibra residents to vote for Mariga in order for them to enjoy government support and projects.
“It is stupid and ILLEGAL for Jubilee to use GOVERNMENT projects to campaign Kibra byelections. The DP shouldn’t blackmail Kibra residents by asking them to vote Mariga for them to enjoy government support and projects. Pure nonsense” tweeted Dida

Dida’s remarks come just a day after DP William Ruto promised goodies to Kibra residents if they will help him vote in Jubilee candidate Macdonald Mariga.
Speaking when he hosted leaders from Nairobi County at his posh Karen Office on Monday 7, Ruto stated that he has a plan to ensure Kibra is transformed into a better settlement area.
Ruto who had seized the moment to campaign for Mariga in the upcoming Kibra by-election promised to change Kibra’s fortunes for good if Jubilee wins.
Kibra and other informal settlements in Nairobi will be among the major beneficiaries of the government’s housing plan under the Big Four Agenda. It is therefore incumbent upon leaders from the area to ensure this affordable and decent shelter dream for every Kenyan is realised. pic.twitter.com/AHpiRnJKRH

“Kibra and other informal settlements in Nairobi will be among the major beneficiaries of the Government’s housing plan under the Big 4 Agenda,” Ruto stated.
He went on to urge current leaders to step up in their administration and work towards Kibra’s transformation.
“It is therefore incumbent upon leaders from the area to ensure this affordable and decent shelter dream for every Kenyan is realised,” Ruto rallied.
However, Dida’s remarks attracted mixed reactions with some supporting him while a number of users against his allegations.
According to a section of them, it was wrong for Dida to accuse Ruto since Raila Odinga was already in government and also in a position to advocate for Kibra’s developments using the government’s money.

If you are asking because you don't know then it's so sad. If you're asking because you want a sarcastic answer then it's

To open up for the ruling party to invest on their manifesto. They promised to deliver their manifesto so if they vote in they will speed up the deliverance in Kibra.

And it is for the ODM to counter those lies. If they can't do it then Mariga will win because history shows that us Kenyans are easily hoodwinked during electioneering period and lies sell faster.

That does not make Mwalimu's point invalid.

…….. it's also wrong and illegal for other parties to hunt for votes for their candidates by using government shortcomings like stalled projects, tribal/ethnic tyranny and political affiliations to get sympathy votes.
