A multi-agency team consisting of detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) have nabbed 25,000 rolls of bhang with n estimated street value of Ksh12.6 million in Mombasa
Confirming the developments on Friday, the DCI took to its Twitter page to reveal that members of the public directed the officers to the discovery.
A thorough search in the house led to 42 large Nigerian bags piled in one of the rooms, with the rolls of bhang wrapped in brown Khaki papers. The detectives were acting on a tip-off from Members of the Public.

“A thorough search in the house led to 42 large Nigerian bags piled in one of the rooms, with the rolls of bhang wrapped in brown Khaki papers.
The detectives were acting on a tip-off from Members of the Public. Further investigations ongoing & Suspect to be arraigned on Monday,” wrote the DCI on its social media page.
The bhang was onfiscated at a Residential House in Kiembeni Estate, Kisauni Mombasa.
One Suspect; Mrs Vivian Auma, owner of the house. arrested and is in Custody.
In a similar case, DCI officers in Nakuru also discovered a huge farm of bhang grown alongside Maize in Morop location-Rongai.
“Bhang grown alongside Maize crop at a farm in Morop location-Rongai was today #Uprooted following an Operation by Detectives led by the Nakuru County Dep. Commissioner,” said the DCI.
One suspect , identified as Nipson Namoru was arrested and is aiding the police with investigations.
