ODM Kibra Candidate Imran Okoth received a timely boost in his bid to succeed his late brother Ken Okoth, as Kibra MP.
Imran Okoth was on Wednesday endorsed by the Nairobi Business Community ahead of the slated by-election.
The infamous group stated that the ODM candidate was the perfect leader to drive the people of Kibra forward.
Through their leader Wilfred Kamau, the controversial organisation reiterated that Imran had the will and the vision to protect the legacy of his deceased brother.
The group is known for the part it played when it disrupted NASA activities such as the self-swearing in ceremony of Raila Odinga at Uhuru Park in 2018.
The group that has resurfaced since after the Handshake, had been accused of threatening supporters affiliated to NASA.
The move by the businessmen comes barely a week after Jubilee Nominated MP Maina Kamanda revealed that he would support Imran.
The ex-Starehe MP stated that the reason for Imran’s endorsement was in regards to him being a handshake candidate.
“I am here in my personal capacity. As Jubilee, we have a candidate but as a person, I will be with the ODM candidate.” remarked Kamanda.
Kamanda made the announcement after he held a closed meeting with ODM leader Raila Odinga at Capitol Hill.
The veteran politician further explained that other members of the Kieleweke Team that are opposed to Deputy President William Ruto, would join him in supporting Imran.
