Mudavadi Declares War on Handshake
Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi will team up with opponents of the constitutional changes being fronted by the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
In an interview on KTN News last night, ANC Secretary-General Barrack Muluka, who termed the BBI illegal, argued that the law provides for an amendment to the Constitution only through a popular or parliamentary initiative.
He revealed that Mr Mudavadi and the party snubbed meetings with the BBI team because it has no legal basis.
KRA Goes after Governors in Tax Evasion Probe
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has now set its sights on governors in a bid to recover billions of shillings in unpaid taxes. At least 10 governors are among 600 individuals being targeted for alleged tax evasion, which is estimated to have cost the economy about Sh250 billion.
The agency has already written to several county bosses demanding immediate payment of accrued taxes, failure to which they will be prosecuted.
ODM Postpones Kibra Nominations
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) National Election Board chairperson Judith Pareno has confirmed postponement of Kibra primaries to September 7, 2019.
In a statement on Wednesday, August 28, Pareno said the abrupt change of date was reached owing to lack of security personnel.
The NEB has postponed the party nominations exercise in Kibra Constituency scheduled for this Saturday 31st August due to lack of provision of security personnel for the exercise occasioned by the ongoing national census. The exercise will now be held on Sat 7th Sept.

Do you think Gor capitalized on the alleged political ambition to get rid of the ‘old dog’ Oliech?
