Sonko’s Video on his Knees Praying Excites Netizens

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday evening left a section of Kenyans perplexed after posting a video of himself praying for the division of revenue bill.

In the video, the vocal governor is seen kneeling down on the floor with his hands raised up surrounded by a number of praise and worship singers who were all kneeling down while singing as well.

Sonko who is always making headlines for his flamboyant and amusing behaviour has never disappointed posting his controversial videos online.

Last week, the MPs and Senators failed in a stormy session to agree on the division of revenue proposals in the process exposing County governments to the cash crisis.

The two houses failed to strike a deal with Senate and National Assembly teams maintaining hard-line positions. The Senate backs the counties’ call for more money, while the assembly backs the Treasury and national government.

While some of the online users rebuked the governor for posting his prayer video online, others just praised him for the action. Others used bible verses to criticize the governor.

And when you pray go to your private place, behind your closet don’t be like the teachers of the law who want to be seen praying in the synagogues…at least this is what my bible says,”  posted one user. Here are some of the reactions from Facebook;
