ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has officially taken over Raila Odinga’s job as the leader of Opposition.
The rise of Hon Raila Odinga to the state of being called the barometer of Kenyan politics was defined by his role as the opposition leader.

His long tenure as an opposition leader has been brought to an end by the optimistic leader Musalia Mudavadi.
Speaking to a local Radio station, Hon Mudavadi re-affirmed his position as the opposition stating his role.

Mudavadi is however embracing modern opposition. Other than highlighting the plight of the people as ODM has been doing, ANC is even staging itself to propose policies to the National Government.
“My role as an opposition leader is to listen to the plight of Kenyans & highlight issues affecting them. Where Government is doing well, I’m ready to compliment & support. Opposition isn’t only about demonstrations but about proposing policies that will take the nation forward,” Mudavadi has stated.

The reason why Mudavadi has placed himself and taken over Hon Raila Odinga’s job is because opposition has been termed as a “sleeping lion.”

Mudavadi’s comments have however not been taken in good faith by other Opposition Chiefs. Just the other day, ODM secretary General Edwin Sifuna attacked KTN for portraying ODM as “chief advocate” in government policies.

The same sentiments were shared by Hon Junet Mohamed who thinks ODM is still an active opposition.
2013-2017: ODM opposes, exposes, sues, protests, etc, government policies/projects…
Media verdict: ODM is sabotaging government. ODM bad for economy. ODM enemy of Kenya
2017 and beyond: ODM decides to let government pursue its agenda, and support it.
