They say that death is nothing but a passing fancy. And for one Mt Kenya United, the mood darkened to a somber state as Kariobangi Sharks put the final nail in the coffin to a lackluster display for the visitors
From the onset, Sharks terrorized the deflated Mt Kenya United, you would think it was a simple sparring session for the hosts.
Indeed, the game looked like it was men vs boys as the Sharks played their best football to date; a style that saw them enter the top 10 teams of the League and draw level with Ulinzi Stars at 42 points.
What was even more surprising was the score-lowdown. Sharks managed to net a brilliant three past MKU that saw them have their highest scoring tally in the past six matches.
This means a lot; coming from the fact that Sharks had just won one game in their last 5 matches before facing MKU.
In fact, after a slow first half, Sharks managed to turn things around and scored impressive goals at the 63′, 65′ and 90th minute that saw them end the match on a definitive 3-0.
As for MKU, it’s a slippery slope to Premier League darkness; having already been relegated from top-flight football with sponsorship dwindling by the minute.
Indeed, it’s trying times for MKU. And one can’t help but wonder if this is the final time that they will grace the Kenyan premier league for years to come. A serious intervention needs to be done to get them back on their feet!
