A detailed look at Ricardo Badoer, the man behind Wazito FC’s revival

Wazito FC are all but sure of earning automatic promotion to the Kenyan Top flight league just months after they were relegated. The team is currently leading in the National Super League with only 4 matches left to play.

Formed back in 2011 by the University of Nairobi soccer team coupled with the alumni members, Wazito is one of the young teams recognized by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).

The experienced players mentor the students on career paths and life experience and the network has brought up morally upright students who have got jobs upon graduation as a result of the networks.

But it was not easy for them in their debut season in the Kenyan Premier League, they were there a season ago but were sent back after they failed to garner up enough points to keep them on the local Premier league which was largely due to their financial struggles. One year later they are now financially strengthened thanks to Ricard Badoer, the owner of Badoer investments who is their new owner and sponsor.
