After Gor Mahia’s draw, Vihiga dreaming big

Vihiga head coach Sammy Okoth is happy with how his players performed against Gor Mahia FC in Kenya Premier League on Wednesday at Machakos Stadium.

The struggling side fought back in the second half to cancel Charles Momanyi’s goal through Amos Kigadi. The side went on to pick a draw that leaves them two points below Zoo FC who is also fighting for safety.

Okoth who ditched Zoo FC to Vihiga United says his charges will be fighting till the final day of the season to see if they will escape the chop.

“We came to play and the players did well. We are grateful we got a point though three points would have been better. I think if we would have done well in the finishing department, we would be here. We have two matches to go and we will fight till the end,” he said.

“We want to stick to what worked for us against and we know if we do so then we can collect maximum points from the two matches, he added.

They Vihiga County sponsored side will host Western Stima and then travel to Kariobangi Sharks in the final game of the season.
