Kenyans angry with Uhuru’s Sh 3B new road

The newly opened Red Hill Road is meant to be the missing link between Westlands and Gigiri but its poor design has had many Kenyans angry.

The 5 kilometres dual road funded by the Government at a cost of Kshs.3 billion and is set to give residents an easy and stress-free time navigating between Waiyaki Way in Westlands, Gigiri and Ruaka.

According to KenHA, street lights, bus bays, road furniture and markings have been incorporated to facilitate free flow of traffic and safety on the road but clearly there are no pedestrians’ footpaths.

The government says that accessibility to the region will be enhanced opening up to business opportunities in an area that for a long time has been characterized by scarce population and activities.

This project is also aimed at decongesting roads in Nairobi city that have been experiencing endless traffic jam.

Traffic will be distributed across the network, with improved traffic flows, and the local community will benefit from reduced traffic volumes.
