Governor Nyagarama reveals his 2022 legacy strategy

Just like President Uhuru Kenyatta, governor serving their second term are working towards leaving a legacy as their serving term comes to an end in 2022.

Whilst President Kenyatta has listed his big four agenda ( Affordable housing, food security, Universal health care and Manufacturing), Nyamira County governor John Nyagarama has singled out corruption as the biggest problem he must eradicate to earn legacy.

Speaking on Monday at a Nyamira hotel during a one-day workshop aimed at developing an action plan for preventing and countering violent extremism in Nyamira, Governor Nyagarama said he is the right person to end corruption in the county.

The county boss noted that he intends to leave a legacy in Nyamira after he completes his second and last term in office in 2022.

“I will not stop telling the people of Nyamira the truth. The serious irregularities surrounding the employment of people in my government will end before 2022. This is just a start for those who missed their April salaries,” he stated.

The governor further noted that he is willing to lose more friends in his quest to end corruption and impunity in the county.

He assured residents that he won’t condone misuse of public funds in the county, citing cases of people receiving salaries after having been recruited through the backdoor.
