After observing the long Huduma queues President Uhuru Kenyatta directed the National Interministerial Committee for the extension of the Huduma Namba registration for another one week.
However, as the exercise continues not everybody is embracing it. The former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commissioner Dr Roselyn Akombe have reacted to President Kenyatta’s directive.
While taking to her social media account the learned DR. claimed that the exercise is a clever way of having the big fish reap more from Kenyans.
“…and the race to control Big Data and sell it to the highest corporate bidder continues…

The Huduma Namba registration exercise has been ongoing for the last five weeks since President Uhuru Kenyatta launched the programme in Machakos County.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’ i had earlier ordered that there would be no extension of the Huduma Registration this leading to Massive number of Kenyans queuing desperately to get the Huduma Namba.
He further added saying, “We don’t want to force you to register, just like we cannot force you to take a KRA pin number… We have come to a regime where we want a Huduma Namba so that when you go to the Huduma Centre, your details can be accessed very easily.”
“Getting services any other way is going to be unnecessarily cumbersome for you but if that’s what you prefer it is also a choice for you to make,” said Matiang’ i.
