Villareal midfielder Santi Cazorla has been recalled to Spain squad after a four-year absence; La Roja will play two fixtures in June, starting with a trip to the Faroe Islands on June 7 and finishing with a home match against Sweden three days later.
It is the first time the former Arsenal fan-favourite has featured on the international scene since 2015 with the midfielder having suffered a horrific Achilles injury at Arsenal, which had doctors believing that he would struggle to walk again.
But the 34-year-old has defied all odds and has turned in a magnificent season for an under-achieving Villarreal side.
Cazorla scored four goals and assisted 10 more in his 34 La Liga matches, including a man-of-the-match performance in the 4-4 draw against Barcelona.
Alvaro Morata’s form with Atletico since signing in January has earned him a place back in the squad, while Jesus Navas’ performances at the right-wing back for Sevilla have earned him a recall.
Spain struggled at the 2018 World Cup, but will no doubt be one of the heavy favorites for Euro 2020.
