Ruto’s Latest Plain Truth to Odinga a Sign of More Wars to Come

Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed ODM leader Raila Odinga’s assertion that there will be a change in governance structure to make the government more inclusive.

Speaking in Turkana County, Ruto said the only change Kenyans were expecting was an acceleration of development projects and not the creation of more leadership positions.

Ruto’s sentiments come a day after Odinga said the country was ripe for a change in the governance structure.

Odinga called on his supporters to support the anticipated change of the constitution through the referendum, aimed at making the government more inclusive of communities in the country.

DP Ruto dismissed Raila’s argument saying Kenyans are not interested in additional leadership positions.

The DP also interpreted the need for Raila’s push for the constitution change as motivated by the need to advance fortunes of individual politicians,

Elsewhere in Baringo County, a section of local MPs are calling for unity among the Kalenjin community ahead of 2022 general election.

Speaking at a burial ceremony for Mzee Wilson Chepkoit at Salawa in Baringo central, the leaders urged both DP Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to unite.

In Nyanza region, ODM politicians were pressuring the president to intensify the war on graft saying there was an element of laxity in the recent past.

Sentiments also echoed by ANC party leader Musalia mudavadi.
