Reasons Ruto’s Pilot is Yet to be Buried Months After Deadly Crash

Months after Kenyans woke up to the sad news of the demise of Deputy President William Ruto’s official pilot Captain Mario Magonga- the deceased is yet to be buried.

The captain together with four American citizens died in a plane crash in Lake Turkana, Turkana County The family of captain Mario Magonga is embroiled in a fresh battle over his burial.

Documents filed before the High Court by Captain Mario’s mother Melania Magonga show that Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor declined to issue her with a burial permit since another person had applied for it.

“Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor and the operations manager of Lee Funeral Services Ltd Mr Paul J.K.J Van Brussel contacted counsel on record to inform him that there would be no such burial permit issued to me,” her lawyer Sammy Waweru said.

While Paying tribute to his fallen Pilot back in March, DP William Ruto said that he was an accomplished and reliable pilot who will sorely be missed.

“Captain Mario Magonga was an accomplished, disciplined and reliable pilot, who loved his job. He was friendly, humble and given to banter. Captain Magonga was charitable, intelligent and had impeccable credentials. He will be sorely missed” Said Ruto.
