The famous Huduma Namba is still giving Kenyans headache over both implications and consequences of lacking the essential number.
In recent scare, a social media user by the name Mugo revealed that a friend of his went to the Criminal Investigations Office to apply for good conduct but was unsuccessful.
The friend was shocked that he couldn’t proceed with the application apparently because he didn’t have Huduma Namba.
The information elicited mixed reactions on the matter regarding its validity.
Well office of the DCI has decided to clarify the misinformation stating that Mugo was lying because one does not require Huduma Namba during the application process.
On other contrary news on the registration people who will not have registered for the Huduma Namba by the deadline date could be considered foreigners and a threat to national security, Tana River County Commissioner Oning’oi Ole’sosio has said.
In an interview, Mr Ole’sosio said the registration is necessary to guarantee national security and ensure efficient delivery of services. He said that those against it had a hidden agenda.
“Last year after the abduction of an Italian volunteer by militia, we arrested one of the key suspects connected to the subsequent murder. He had an ID but when we forwarded it to the National Registration Bureau, we were told the owner of the document was deceased,” he said.
