Narok senator Ole Kina has said that National Assembly won’t apologize to Kiambu governor over the dubious budget he presented to the parliament.

There was a mix up to the document where Waititu was accused of misappropriating over sh 2 billion on funny projects that are financed y the national government.

“We won’t apologize to Waititu for the mix up that shamed him and the entire County on budget expenditure,” He said.

Waititu claimed that his troubles are politically engineered for his ardent support for Deputy President William Ruto.

Waititu, in a statement released on his behalf by Kiambu CEC for Sports Karungo Wa Thang’wa, said the controversial allocations captured in the Auditor General’s report were maliciously aimed at tarnishing his political image.

“The Governor wishes to categorically state that the summons to appear before the Senate was politically engineered to embarrass him and his government”.

“The report produced at Senate by the Auditor General if fictitious and did not emanate from Kiambu County Government as alleged. The people of Kiambu are happy with their Government and his track record speaks for itself,” the statement read in part.

The statement was a deviation from the Governor’s presentation in the Senate where he apologized and explained that the budget allocations appeared after his official misused a State House budget template.

“I am apologizing that we have such issues in our report. There must be someone who used the template. However, I want to assure this committee that there was no money spent on South Sudan, on State House, and on free primary education because we do not have a budget vote for that,” Waititu said.
