Well, a man in Kitui is changing this norm after he presented himself for punishment after Killing his newly wedded wife.
John Mutinda, from Kitui County, hacked his newly wed wife to death using a machete.
The two were engaged in a heated family feud before the unfortunate incident.
After killing his wife, a seemingly guilty Mutinda ran to his mother and told her to take her to the nearest Police Station.
Mutinda told his mother that he accidentally killed his wife Ciru Murimi.
“He knocked at my window and requested me to take him to the station because he had accidentally killed his new wife after a misunderstanding,” explained the mother.
Kitui Central police boss Sicily Gatiti confirmed that the suspect has since been arrested and arraigned in court.
The Court ordered that he be detained for an extra 14 days to enable proper investigations into the matter.
