This is a fatal statement that may cost you your job because it shows that you are not confident enough with your capabilities. no matter how unsure you are never reveal your insecurities to people who need you to be strong.

Instead of that, you can say, ‘I have an idea which just might be the thing we need’. Again you don’t want to look like you are all right and no one can have a better idea

2. “It’s not in my job description”

A lot of people say this…. consciously or subconsciously… it is a wrong thing to say and another factor that can render you jobless.

Many times your boss will tell you to do something for his or her, trust me this answer will attract a termination letter.

If you cannot do it, you can just excuse yourself and give a good reason why you cannot do it, you can also give a suggestion of a solution to the matter. that way your boss will see you as an innovative person. Which will earn you extra points to your promotion.

3. “It will only take a minute”

This will test your integrity, because there are some bosses who like precision. By saying in a minute please ensure that by the end of that minute you should have handed over that report.

Give yourself ample time to finish the task you have been given.

4. “This is how it should be done”

The first thing that one thinks is, who the hell does this person think they are?’ Why? you are assuming your boss’s responsibility because that is an answer only the boss can give.

Another thing is, people will think that you are to creative enough to come up with new ideas, or simplify a lazy fellow.
