Musician Muigai wa Njoroge alias Kigutha is among the few public figures and close allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta who have time and again told him he is failing only for Uhuru not to take him seriously.
Late last year Kigutha warned Uhuru to watch out or else he will end up disgraced.
“Uhuru son of Ngina the country is boiling. Think twice and try to tame this your ‘brother’ (not Uhuru biological brother) who is a big disgrace. If not, Kikuyus and the entire country will hate you and when you will pass on they will not bury you with respect. Many will regret how you came to lead them” Kigutha warned Uhuru, the man he campaigned for vigorously.
Uhuru administration is facing hostility in his backyard.
He has now told Uhuru that trouble has finally caught up with him.
It will be remembered that President Uhuru’s tour of Mt Kenya region alongside opposition leader Raila Odinga was put on hold last over fears Uhuru will be embarrassed in his backyard.
His recent appointments favouring the Central Kenya to purportedly endear himself to the block he is accused of abandoning after handshake in march 2018 has not electrified the region.
Uhuru is said to have gradually lost popularity in his backyard as average wananchi decry runaway corruption, high costs of living, punitive laws to benefit a few, mismanagement of public finances and pointless politicking.
