Controversial Canadian based lawyer Miguna Miguna has for a long time been a fierce critic of the Jubilee government and especially Deputy President William Ruto. The fearless lawyer has on many occasions come out to voice his pleas against what he says as an oppressive regime.

But with his controversial ousting from the country in 2018 and Handshake coming into being, Miguna has been busy aiming his guns at President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Leader Raila Odinga.

The vocal lawyer now seems to be toning down his attacks on the Deputy President William Ruto after his exclusion from the famous March 2018 handshake. Recently, most of his attacks are largely directed towards the ‘two Despots’ (Uhuru and Raila) as he calls them.

Recently Miguna came to the defense of DP William Ruto following remarks made by ODM leader Raila Odinga. Miguna Miguna stated that in as much as he doesn’t support the DP, he believes that has a right to campaign for what he believes in.

‘’I don’t support William Ruto and believe that he is as corrupt Uhuru Kenyatta, Daniel Moi, Jomo Kenyatta & other KANU Orphans, but it is extremely dishonest for Raila Odinga to keep yelling at Ruto to stop 2022 campaigns. Everyone has a right to campaign for what he believes in.’’ Miguna tweeted.

Over the weekend while joining Governor Hassan Joho for this year’s Eid Baraza in Mombasa, Hon. Raila made remarks that were interpreted to have been directed at DP Ruto. The ODM leader told Deputy President William Ruto to stop “loitering around” claiming he’ll be Kenya’s president in 2022.

A section of Jubilee leaders has also expressed their displeasure with Raila Odinga and asked him to stop attacking Deputy President William Ruto over 2022 campaigns.

Led by Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu and his Tharaka Nithi counterpart governor Muthomi Njuki, the leaders described the ODM leader as an insincere person who wanted to wreck Jubilee the way he has done to the parties he has been in. They described him as a ‘leader with bad manners’ and should stop arrogating himself the duty to speak for Jubilee.

Senator Kindiki told Raila to keep off the activities of the Jubilee Party, saying the Opposition leader was hell-bent on extending the wrangles and confusion in NASA to Jubilee.

“I want to tell Raila Odinga not to extend the confusion and wrangles that has made NASA to be in tatters to Jubilee. We are organised as far as leadership is concerned,” the Senator said.

For his part, Waititu said the Opposition leader was not sincere, genuine and honest about the Building Bridgesinitiative

“as he is now undermining efforts to devolve the handshakes to benefit Kenyans at the grassroots. I know Mr Odinga than anyone else and he can’t be trusted. He is banking on a referendum to amend the Constitution to create positions for people like him. But I want him to know that the President has said there will be no referendum, and that’s all.”

They spoke at the Pentecostal Church of East Africa (PCEA) and St Benedict Catholic Church, Thika, Kiambu county and the Deputy President was in attendance.
