‘Construct more mosques’, demands on Twitter flood DP Ruto’s Ramadhan wishes

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday took to his Twitter to wish the Muslim community a blessed Ramadhan, where he was met by a series of demands from his government.

DP Ruto wished the Muslims “blessings, peace, joy and atonement,” on his post.

“May this period bring you closer to Allah as you look upon Him for guidance and favour,” he stated.

In response however, Kenyans online sent forth a number of complaints, including police brutality on Muslims found going to the mosque late at night.

“The police should not harass innocent believers who attend prayers in the late hours of the night,” one remarked.

Ruto was also called upon to spearhead the construction of more mosques.

While those were in line with the Ramadhan message, others, in the spirit of hustling, also used the opportunity to get the deputy president to rescue them from the jaws of unemployment.

Politics too, took its place in the Twitter thread.
