Prior to this match, Ingwe was unbeaten in their last 8 matches winning 5 and drawing 3. Their confidence was however not enough to see off a spirited Mathare United who were worthy 2-0 winners.
In other results, Kakamega Homeboyz recovered from their midweek loss to Tusker FC with a 3-0 thumping of Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani Stadium. Zoo Kericho and Sony Sugar drew 0-0 while Posta Rangers and Bandari ended goalless. Vihiga United climbed out of the relegation zone with a 2-1 win over Chemelil United.
