From taking money to Churches, to taking them to Mosques! Deputy President Dr William Ruto seems to be unstoppable! Despite criticism from other religious and political leaders, the DP has not ceased from making religious contributions over the weekends.
With the Holy month of Ramadan being just hours away, DP Ruto took a funds drive to Wajir County. This time round, he was not for the churches, but Masjids!
He oversaw a funds drive dubbed Tarbaj Waqaf fund raising for Wakf for Madarasa, Tarbaj constituency.
During the event that was conducted by the DP, over Sh 61 million was raised just in a single day.
As per the norm of his Tanga Tanga followers, they were all over to quote the holy Quran.
National Assembly majority leader Aden Duale who dressed Ruto on Somali attire took to his twitter account to quote the Quran, with verses that depicted DP Ruto could be raised to the throne!
“DP Dr @WilliamsRuto conducted a funds drive for Wakf for Madarasa, Tarbaj constituency. We raised over 61M. “A person who follows a path for acquiring knowledge, Allah will make easy the passage to Paradise for him.” “A Muslim will not tire of knowledge until he reaches Heaven”, ” posted Duale.
However, several Muslims were not ready for this. They took to social media to react to the event.
Majority told Ruto off on Islamic matters, with the issue of cleansing dirty money in the religious places still dominating the conversation.
