Arsenal looks set to miss out on Nicolas Tagliafico after the Ajax defender announce he will remain with the Dutch side for another season.
The Argentine has been linked with a move to the Emirates as Unai Emery targets to reinforce his defence that has been shaky in the current season.
Tagliafico was termed a long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal who is aging.
The Gunners now will be forced to look elsewhere after the defender took it to social media on Friday to assure fans he will remain with the Eredivisie title-chasers next season.
“Hello fans, how are you? I want to tell you that I will stay for one more season. Hopefully it will be a great year, like it is this year. A huge to all of you,” he said.
The Gunners will play their last Premier League home game on Sunday 5th at the Emirates against Brighton.
