Women Still Use Clothes, Cow Dungs and Cups To Manage Menstruation

A recent research has shown that women around the world especially from poor nations use every kind of means to manage their menstruation- from animal skins and old rags to cow patties and silicon cups.

Basic necessities like clean water, toilets and pads are unavailable for women to millions of women and girls around the globe.

Without the necessities, menstruation can negatively affect women’s health and can prevent them from engaging in socio-economic activities.

The government have been blamed of not providing the proper infrastructure to help women manage their menstruation.

Many women cannot afford the highly-taxed pads, they have poor toilets in their areas and sadly enough, the government is not taking responsibility to educate young girls about reproductive health and rights.

In many countries, women most frequently use cloth during menstruation. Cloth is reusable and, for many women, is seen as a cheaper and more sustainable methodology than sanitary pads.

But these products are very harmful to health and can cause serious health hazards.
