AFC Leopards working ‘overnight’ to keep sizzling hot duo after AFCON?

AFC Leopards Secretary-General Oscar Igaida says they are working hard to keep Kenyan Internationals Paul Were and David Cheche Ochieng

The three have been instrumental since arriving at the Den in the mid-transfer window. Cheche has helped stabilize the midfield while Were has been key in the attack.

Having hard stints in Europe, the two might not be available at the den after the end of the season. Head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo is keen to keep the two and has requested their contracts to be extended.

Igaida says the office is set to launch talks with the players and he is confident they will be able to tie them down.

“Were and Ochieng have settled in well and are one of the reasons why the team is doing well. The coach requested us to extend their contracts and as the management, we will try and do that in order to help the coach build a strong team for next season,” Igaida told Goal.

“We are confident the two players will extend their stay because they love the team and they play with passion,” he added.
